Cancer Screening Camps
Early detection is the key to winning the fight against cancer, especially in low-resource settings. Damooga Foundation conducts specialized Cancer Screening Camps targeting rural and semi-urban populations, where awareness and access to diagnostics are low.
The camps provide free breast, cervical, and oral cancer screenings using visual inspection, thermal imaging, and mobile diagnostic tools. Women above 30 and individuals with tobacco use history are prioritized for screening. Trained health workers explain risk factors and post-screening counseling is provided on-site.
Partnering with regional cancer hospitals ensures timely referrals and follow-up treatment for high-risk cases. In addition to screenings, awareness sessions on self-examination, lifestyle changes, and myth-busting help demystify cancer in rural minds.
These camps aim to catch cancer early, when it is treatable, saving lives and reducing the emotional and financial burden on families.
