Climate Education Now: Ignorance is Our Biggest Enemy
Climate change is the defining issue of our time — yet most people remain uninformed or misinformed about its causes, effects, and solutions. The Damooga Foundation’s Climate Literacy Program is designed to close this knowledge gap, particularly among youth, educators, and local leaders.
Through structured modules, interactive workshops, and digital content, the program demystifies complex climate science and connects it to everyday experiences — from heatwaves to floods, from air pollution to food security. It helps participants understand global climate policies like the Paris Agreement and local actions they can take.
Schools and colleges host climate clubs under this program, conducting tree audits, water conservation projects, and waste tracking. Teachers are trained to integrate sustainability into regular subjects like science, geography, and economics.
The mission is simple but vital: build a generation that can think critically about climate challenges and act decisively. When citizens understand climate risks, they can demand better policies and adopt greener practices — creating a ripple effect of resilience and responsibility.
