Rural Skills Training
India’s villages hold untapped potential, yet many youth lack the training needed to compete in today’s economy. Damooga Foundation’s Rural Skills Training initiative equips young men and women in remote regions with employable and entrepreneurial skills tailored to local needs.
Courses include tailoring, two-wheeler repair, carpentry, electrical wiring, organic farming, mobile servicing, and handicrafts. Training centers are set up in collaboration with gram panchayats, and often supported by retired professionals or local entrepreneurs.
These practical programs come with soft skill modules, job placement assistance, and certification. They offer dignity of work and self-sufficiency — especially for school dropouts, widows, and economically weaker families.
When rural youth are skilled, rural economies thrive.
