Zero Food Waste Drives
Food waste is a growing paradox in a country that battles hunger daily. Damooga Foundation’s Zero Food Waste Drives tackle this by redirecting surplus food from weddings, events, restaurants, and households to those who need it most.
Through a real-time volunteer network and storage units, excess food is collected, quality-checked, repackaged, and redistributed within hours. Hotlines and mobile apps allow donors to report availability quickly. Food safety protocols ensure hygiene and health.
Awareness campaigns teach households and canteens to cook responsibly, manage portions, and compost scraps. Schools are encouraged to celebrate “No Waste Lunch Days” to build early habits.
In this model, what would’ve gone to bins goes to bellies — making hunger history one plate at a time.
